Born in Japan on 20 January 1995, Kyogo Furuhashi is a footballer known for his striking prowess. Now aged 30, Furuhashi currently applies his trade as a forward for Birmingham City. Standing at 5ft 6in (1.7m) and weighing 9st 12lbs (63kg), Furuhashi has also earned caps for the Japan national team.

Furuhashi began his professional career at FC Gifu in Japan's lower leagues in January 2017. In his debut season, Furuhashi made 24 first team appearances, finding the back of the net five times.
July 2018 saw Furuhashi make a move from FC Gifu to the J1 League's Vissel Kobe for a fee of around £140k. Over the course of his tenure there, Furuhashi notched up numerous appearances and an impressive number of goals; with the 2021 season standing out as he scored 15 times in 21 appearances.
In July 2021, Furuhashi transferred to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for a fee of approximately £4.6m. His time at Celtic was particularly productive. In the 2021-22 season, he scored 12 goals in 20 appearances. The following season, Furuhashi displayed an even more remarkable scoring record, finding the back of the net 27 times in 36 appearances. In his final two seasons at the club, he made 60 appearances and scored 24 goals.
In January 2025, Furuhashi left the Scottish Premiership, signing with Rennes in France's Ligue 1 for a reported fee of around £10m. However, his stint at the French club was short-lived, and by July of the same year, he transferred to Birmingham City in England's Championship for an undisclosed fee. So far, in the 2025-26 season, Furuhashi has made a single appearance for Birmingham City.
Aside from his club exploits, Furuhashi has also made his mark on the international stage. He participated in the League Cup 2025-26 for Birmingham City, scoring one goal in his single start. Moreover, he has been involved in World Cup Qualifiers Asia 2024-26 for Japan, making two appearances as a substitute.
