Born in Greece on 12 May 1996, defender Kostas Tsimikas currently serves on the front lines for Roma as a left back. At the age of 29, standing 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall and weighing 12st 1lb (77kg), he holds an impressive physical presence out on the pitch.
Tsimikas embarked on his professional journey with Olympiacos in the Greek Super League in July 2015. Though his involvement in the first team was limited to three appearances during the 2015-16 season, and a single appearance in the following season, his persistence and dedication held firm. By the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, his first team engagements significantly increased, stepping out onto the field in 15 and 27 league matches respectively.
In an interlude during his Olympiacos tenure, Tsimikas was loaned out to two clubs. In January 2017, he joined Esbjerg in Denmark and managed to net a goal in five first team appearances during the single season he spent there. He later transferred on loan to Willem II in the Netherlands in July 2017, where his presence was felt in 33 first team appearances and three league goals in the 2017-18 season. After his time with Willem II, he returned to his home club, Olympiacos.
2020 saw the defender's career take a leap as Tsimikas was transferred for around £12m from Olympiacos to Liverpool, one of the eminent football clubs in the English Premier League. During his time in England, he steadily established his place in the team, making a total of 66 first team appearances across five seasons.
Currently, in August 2025, Tsimikas finds himself on loan to Roma in the Italian Serie A, though he has yet to make any first team appearances in the ongoing 2025-26 season.
In addition to his club career, Tsimikas has also sported the blue and white of the Greek national team. He took part in the Euro Qualifiers 2022-24, where he started in eight matches, and the Nations League 2024-25, where he started five times and made one appearance as a substitute.
According to Transfermarkt, Tsimikas currently holds a market value of around £15.5m.
