Killian Phillips was born on the 30th of March, 2002, hence at the age of 23 he is already earning his stripes as a competent midfielder on the St Mirren football club. Heralding from the United States, Phillips has also represented the Republic of Ireland national team. Despite his American roots, he's been juggling the football in Scotland, England, and the Republic of Ireland. Adorning the number 88 jersey, this 6ft 2in (1.9m) tall footballer and weighing 13st 5lb (85kg), is indeed a sight on the football field.
Phillips’ affiliation with professional football began in earnest in January 2020 with his joining Drogheda United, a football league team in the Republic of Ireland. It was a commendable debut season for the young man. In the season of 2021, he made 30 appearances in the first team and bagged two goals in league matches.
The year 2022 saw him transferring from Drogheda United to Crystal Palace, a Premier League team in England. The financial details of this deal remain undisclosed. During his time at Crystal Palace he eventually found himself loaned out to Shrewsbury Town, an English League Two team, for the 2022-2023 season. His tenure there rewarded Shrewsbury Town with ten first team appearances and one goal in league bouts.
In August 2023, Phillips transferred from Crystal Palace to Wycombe Wanderers, a League One team in England, again on loan. His next move, in January 2024, would see him shifting to Aberdeen, a team in the Scottish Premiership, for a temporary spell. That season, he made ten first team appearances in league matches.
It was in August 2024 that he would transfer on loan yet again from Crystal Palace, this time to St Mirren, another team in the Scottish Premiership. During the 2024 - 2025 season, he made 35 first-team appearances and scored four goals in league matches. The current season, 2025 - 2026, he has thus far made ten first team appearances and scored one goal in league matches. Following this, in July 2025, he transferred permanently from Crystal Palace to St Mirren. The current season, 2025 - 2026, has seen him continue his previous form, making ten first team appearances and scoring one goal in league matches so far.
His presence has been notable in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 for St Mirren, as evidenced by his four goals in seven starts; the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025 for St Mirren, with two starts; and the World Cup Qualifiers Europe 2024 - 2026 for the Republic of Ireland, with one appearance as a substitute.
