Killian Phillips, born on 30 March 2002, hails from the USA and at 23 years of age, is a force to reckon with in the midfield. He currently plies his trade for St Mirren in Scotland, primarily as a central midfielder. Standing tall at 6ft 2in (1.9m) and weighing 13st 5lb (85kg), he dominates the pitch in his number 88 shirt. Outside of club duties, Phillips also boasts appearances for the Republic of Ireland national team.
Phillips's story brings us back to January 2020 where he joined Drogheda United in the Premier Division in the Republic of Ireland. It was a most promising debut wherein the 2021 season with Drogheda, saw him making 30 first-team appearances and netting two goals in league matches.
In January of 2022, the midfielder’s journey took him from Drogheda United to the glinting spectacle of the Premier League, as he transferred to Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee. However, his stint at Palace was short-lived as he was loaned out to Shrewsbury Town in League Two where he featured in 10 first-team appearances, scoring one goal in the 2022-2023 season.
His patronage stayed with Crystal Palace, but a new opportunity knocked in August 2023 in the form of a loan move to Wycombe Wanderers in League One. But, the twist and turns didn't cease. Just five months on, the January 2024 transfer window saw him moving on loan to Aberdeen in the Premiership in Scotland, marking his first steps on Scottish soil.
Phillips didn't stay long at Aberdeen, having only made 10 first-team appearances in the league. Instead, in August 2024, another loan transfer from Crystal Palace brought him to St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership. This move proved quite prosperous, as Phillips made 35 first-team appearances, and added four goals to his name in the 2024-2025 season. His current season (2025-2026) at St Mirren saw him making 24 appearances and netting one goal in league matches thus far.
The year 2025 saw a significant shift in Phillips's career trajectory as he transferred permanently from Crystal Palace to St Mirren. His influence in the St Mirren squad is evident; in the 2024-2025 season, he made another 35 appearances, scoring four goals. The 2025-2026 season has seen him make 24 first-team appearances and score an additional goal.
Phillips's contributions have not been limited to the league. His name has also graced the score sheet in the League Cup 2025-2026 for St Mirren, netting four goals in eight starts. He has also seen two starts in the Scottish Cup 2025-2026 for St Mirren, and made an appearance in the World Cup Qualifiers Europe 2024-2026 for the Republic of Ireland.
