Kevin Mbabu, born on 19 April 1995 (age 31), is a Swiss right-back now with Young Boys. His current market value is around £3m, according to Transfermarkt.
Mbabu came through in Switzerland with Servette before moving to Newcastle United as a teenager. His time in England brought only a limited first-team breakthrough, and a short loan at Rangers in 2015 did not amount to much. The more useful move came when he returned to Switzerland with Young Boys, where he settled properly and built his reputation.
That spell earned him a move to Wolfsburg, where his best league return came in 2019-20: three goals in 20 appearances. It was the sort of steady, athletic full-back work that made sense in the Bundesliga, without needing much embroidery.
He later moved to Fulham, then had spells back on the continent before returning to Young Boys. Mbabu’s career has been a solid one across Switzerland, England and Germany – not spectacular, but durable enough, and with his best football coming when he has had a clear role at right-back.
