Born on the 25th January 1993, Kevin Holt is a Scottish recognised defender. He currently plies his trade for Dundee United, primarily as a centre-back. Standing at 6 feet (1.85m) and weighing 11 stone 6 pounds (around 73kg), Holt undoubtedly possesses a commanding presence on the pitch. He's proudly worn the number 4 jersey throughout his tenure at the club.
According to Transfermarkt, his current market value comes to around £210k. As the clock literally ticks on his career with Dundee United, his contract is poised to expire on 31 May 2025, with only 4 months remaining.
Holt's career in football carved its starting blocks in August 2010, when he signed for Queen of the South in Scotland's League One. His debut season in 2011-12 showcased him stepping onto the pitch 17 times for the first team in league matches. This increased to 28 appearances in the 2012-13 season with a cherry on top in the form of a goal. He continued to display his consistency with 30 first team appearances (and a goal) in the 2013-14 season and 33 (with three goals) in 2014-15.
The call from Dundee arrived in July 2015, resulting in Holt leaving Queen of the South in favour of a move to Dundee in the Premiership, for an undisclosed fee. His debut season in Dundee saw him put in 34 first team appearances and contribute a couple of goals. In the following season, he kicked it up a notch with 37 appearances and three goals. The 2017-18 season saw a slight drop in appearances, down to 24, but with the same quota of two goals.
A foreign adventure called in July 2018, as Holt transferred from Dundee to Pafos in Cyprus’ First Division, where he made 26 first team appearances in the 2018-19 season. However, Scotland called him back the following year and in July 2019, Holt was back at Queen of the South with a season racking up 17 first team appearances.
In September 2020, Holt took another stab at playing abroad, this time for Ermis Aradippou in the B Class in Cyprus. However, the spell didn't last long, and by July 2021, he was back on Scottish soil, joining Partick Thistle in the Championship. Here, he put in 25 first team appearances and scored five goals in the 2022-23 season.
Holt's next move brought him to his current club Dundee United in July 2023. His first season at Tannadice produced 31 first team appearances, along with six goals - his highest scoring season thus far. He's been on the pitch 23 times this season (2024-25), already with a couple of goals to his name.
Over and above his league efforts, Holt has also had a taste of cup action with Dundee United in the 2024-25 season, scoring two goals over four starts (and one substitute appearance) in the League Cup. He also put in a start in the Scottish Cup.
