Kelechi Iheanacho, born in Nigeria on 3 October 1996, is a forward who is currently plying his trade as a striker for Celtic. Standing at 6ft (1.85m) and weighing 12st 12lb (82kg), Iheanacho proudly charges down Celtic's front line donning the number 17 jersey. His international football career has seen him representing the Nigerian national team, in addition to his club duties.
His current market value sits approximately at €4.50m (£3.86m), according to Transfermarkt.
Iheanacho's European journey began in 2014 when he joined Manchester City. In his debut 2015 - 2016 season, he found the net 8 times in 26 appearances. The following season, he scored four goals in 20 appearances for Manchester City.
The forward moved from Manchester City to Leicester City in 2017, at a transfer fee of around £25m. A particular high point was the 2020 - 2021 season, where he buried 12 goals in just 25 appearances.
In July 2024, Iheanacho left English soil for LaLiga's Sevilla in Spain, only to return on loan to Middlesbrough in England in February 2025. However, after just nine appearances for Sevilla, eight months, and 15 appearances at Middlesbrough, Iheanacho returned to Sevilla.
