Kauan Kelvin, born on the 21st of January 2005 in Brazil, is a twenty-year-old footballer slicing through defences as a forward for SC Braga. Primarily taking the role of a left winger, Kelvin stands at a formidable 1.86m (or 6ft 1in in old money) and weighs in at a sturdy 79kg (or 12st 6lb for those of us resisting the metric system). Followers of SC Braga will undoubtedly recognise him in his No 99 jersey as he busies himself on the pitch.
Although he flocks to the field under the Portuguese sky these days, Kelvin's journey began further afield. In the hustle and bustle of January 2020, he found his way to the famed Gremio in Série A, Brazil. His aptitude for the sport was sparked, and his professional career took its first faltering steps.
By July 2023, 'Kauan Kelvin' Magalhães da Silva had outgrown his confines in Brazil and sought pastures new. He was transferred from Gremio in the Série A to SC Braga in the Liga Portugal for a fee in the region of £860,000. It's interesting to note that being a former Celtic player, he was remembered fondly by the Bhoys as he took up the mantle at SC Braga. We are left to observe his progress from afar and wish him every success in his ongoing career.
