Kanayo Megwa, born on the 5th of March 2004 in England, is a defender who generally takes to the field as a right back for Hibernian. He stands at 5 feet 10 inches (1.79m) tall and tips the scales at 11 stones 2 pounds (71kg). He can be recognised on the pitch with his number 27 jersey.
In September 2021, Megwa was recruited by Hibernian, a Premiership team in Scotland. He secured four first player appearances in league matches in the 2023-2024 season but has yet to chalk up any appearances in the current 2025-2026 season.
Shortly afterward, this young player found himself on loan in March 2023 to Kelty Hearts, a League One team in Scotland. Here, Megwa managed to secure one first player appearance in league matches in the 2022-2023 season. By June 2023, Megwa was back at Hibernian on completion of his loan.
Megwa took another loan spell in September 2023, this time to Airdrieonians, a team competing in the Championship in Scotland. There, Megwa chalked up a respectable 27 first-team appearances in league matches during the 2023-2024 season. By January 2024, his loan concluded and Megwa found himself back at Hibernian in the Premiership.
A third loan move came in February 2024 when Megwa was again sent to Airdrieonians. He repeated his earlier performance, making 27 first team appearances during the 2023-2024 season, and returned to Hibernian in June 2024.
Megwa's final loan spell saw him moving to Partick Thistle, another Championship team in Scotland, in September 2024. Here, he made 26 first-team appearances in the 2024-2025 season. By June 2025, Megwa was back at Hibernian once again.
During the 2025-2026 season, Megwa saw some action in the League Cup and the Europa League Qualifiers for Hibernian, earning one start and two substitute appearances respectively. He also made one substitute appearance in the Conference League Qualifiers for Hibernian.
