Ah, Kai Fotheringham, a lad born on the 18th day of April in the year 2003. A Scottish native, he's made his mark as a forward, showing up primarily as a right winger for Dundee United. A quaint package of footballing promise, standing tall (or short, depending on who's asking) at 5ft 6in (that's 1.69m for our metric friends). Weighs in at a lean 10st 5lb (or 66kg if you prefer the continental way).
And here comes the fun part. His market value. A staggering sum of just over £318,000 (€375k primarily). The source of this riveting info? None other than Transfermarkt. You can have a gander right here. Now, his contract with Dundee United is set to expire on the 31st of May 2025, giving him another 4 months to ply his trade under their colours.
Y'see, in July of ye olde 2018, our lad Fotheringham embarked on his romantic journey in the world of professional football, joining Dundee United as a trainee. A heartwarming and utterly thrilling debut season followed in 2020-2021 when Kai made a grand total of... one appearance. This skyrocketed to 11 the following season, and to 35 the season after that. In the latter, he even managed to find the back of the net a commendable 12 times. In the current 2024-2025 season, he's made 13 appearances thus far.
But the life of a young footballer is never confined to a stable club career, oh no. Kai had his fair share of short-term trips away from Dundee. Firstly, to Falkirk, where he transferred on loan in March 2021 and returned in June of the same year. Then off to Raith Rovers in July 2021, where he stayed until October. Another stint away from Dundee in February 2022 saw him venture to Cove Rangers, only to return in June. His last loan spell (to date) was to Stirling Albion in August 2022, where he scored five times in 15 appearances before returning to Dundee United in February 2023.
And let's not forget his footprints in cup competition. The League Cup 2024-2025 has already seen Kai step onto the pitch four times, twice as a starter and twice more as a substitute. Seems like a ripe old age for a young 'un of only 21, but that's football.
