Joshua Kimmich, born on 8 February 1995 (age 31), is a German central defensive midfielder whose senior career has been shaped overwhelmingly at Bayern Munich. He wears the No 6 shirt and remains a regular part of their first team in 2025–26, rather than a name living off older work.
Across 12 seasons at Bayern, Kimmich has made 324 league appearances and scored 30 league goals. His most productive league campaign came in 2016–17, when he scored six times in 27 appearances, but his value has generally been in control, position and reliability rather than headline totals.
He has continued to carry a heavy workload in 2025–26, with 29 Bundesliga appearances and two league goals, plus 13 Champions League outings and a DFL-Supercup appearance. In all competitions for Bayern this season, he has made 43 appearances and scored two goals. His market value is around £42.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Kimmich has also remained involved with Germany, including five European World Cup qualifying appearances this season, with two goals. His career is not difficult to place: a long-serving Bayern midfielder, still relevant, still playing regularly, and still trusted at a high level.
