Ah, let's talk about Josh Gentles, who first saw the light of day on 26th September 2007, which puts him at the ripe old age of 17. Being born in the land of sheeps, daffodils â Wales for those detached from geography â he decided to toy with a football and eventually made something of it. This young 'un chose the path of a forward, skewing towards the role of a striker for the Rangers, a team that has seen better days.
For folks looking for a visual, Gentles regularly prances about the pitch adorned with the number 50, something not particularly unusual, but evidently significant enough to highlight.
Far be it from us to overlook the personal journey of our subjects. In the chilly month of February 2023, Gentles packed his kit and started his journey in the audacious world of football by joining the Rangers as a trainee. A piece of trivia for you - it's in the Premiership in Scotland, beyond the wall.
Happily sequestered away in Glasgow, this Welsh lad decided a little adventure wouldn't do any harm. So, in January 2025, he packed his bags again and transferred to Alloa Athletic, hailing from the League One in Scotland, on loan. A lateral move some may argue, but who are we to question these footballers and their whims.
Perhaps the winds of Alloa didn't sit well with him, or he had a fallout with the haggis, who knows. So, in June 2025, after presumably seeing what there was to see, and doing what there was to do, Gentles bravely finished his loan spell, gathered his possessions, and returned to Rangers - where, one hopes, life continued in the Premiership, with less haggis and more... football?
