Josh Campbell, born on 6 May 2000 (age 25), is a Scottish midfielder whose career has been shaped overwhelmingly at Hibernian. A 6ft (1.82m), 11st 9lb (74kg) centre midfielder, he has worn squad number 32 and become a familiar part of the Easter Road first team rather than a passing name on the team sheet.
His early development included loan football away from Hibs, the sort of necessary mileage that tends to sort out young midfielders quickly enough. Those spells mattered, but they sit firmly in the background. Campbell’s career story is not one of a player drifting through clubs. It is built around his return to relevance at Hibernian and his staying power there.
Across five league seasons with Hibs, Campbell has made 138 league appearances and scored 17 goals. His most productive campaign came in 2022–23, when he scored eight times in 36 league matches, a useful return from midfield and a reminder that his game has not been limited to industry and positioning.
By 2025–26, he remained a regular first-team presence, with 24 league appearances and one goal. Campbell is not a headline act in the wider Scottish game, but he has become a significant long-serving Hibernian player: steady, used often, and still part of their current side.
