Josh Campbell, a native Scot, was born on 6 May 2000 and as of today, stands at the age of 25. He is a surname familiar to the Hibernian faithful, where he is deployed on the field as a central midfielder. With an admirable physique of 1.82 metres (5ft 11in) in height, weighing 74 kg (11st 9 lb), Campbell dons the number 32 jersey for the Hibs.
His journey with Hibernian started in July 2016 when he joined the squad as a trainee. In his debut season of 2021-2022, he made a respectable tally of 26 appearances, with one goal to his name. His following seasons saw significant improvement in both his performance and contributions to the squad - 36 appearances and 8 goals in the 2022-2023 season, 19 appearances with 3 goals in the 2023-2024 season, and 33 appearances with 4 goals in the 2024-2025 season. As of the current 2025-2026 season, Campbell has made a modest 12 appearances for the first team.
While his career at Hibernian has seen a steady progression, it did involve brief periods outside Easter Road. In January 2019, he moved on a loan spell to Airdrieonians in the Championship. However, he made a return to Hibs in June of the same year. Not long after in September 2020, Campbell was once again on the move, this time to Arbroath FC, again on a loan agreement. His stint at Arbroath was short-lived, and by January 2020 he was back in Hibernian. The 2020-2021 season witnessed yet another loan spell for Campbell when he transferred to Edinburgh City in September 2020, only to return to Hibernian in June 2021.
Aside from his successful league campaigns, Campbell has had a taste of cup football and European competitions as well. He has participated in the League Cup 2025-2026 for Hibernian with one start and also marked his presence in the Europa League Qualifiers 2025-2026 with two appearances off the bench. Moreover, he made significant contributions to the squad in the Conference League Qualifiers 2025-2026, where he started in two matches and made one substitute appearance.
