Jordan Obita, born on 8 December 1993 (age 32), is a Ugandan left-back whose career has been shaped by steady senior football rather than fuss. His early development included loan spells, with the most productive coming at Gillingham in 2011-12, where he scored three times in six league appearances.
Those early outings mattered. They gave him first-team minutes at an age when many players are still being talked about more than trusted. Obita built from there into a senior full-back with a practical game: left-sided, experienced, and used to the demands of regular football.
He is now with Hibernian, wearing squad number 21. In 2026-27 he has made six appearances for Hibs across all competitions, including the Scottish Cup and Conference League qualifying, without scoring. He has also been involved internationally, making four appearances for Uganda in African World Cup qualifying.
Obitaโs career has moved from early loan grounding to established senior work at club level, with Hibernian his current base and Uganda part of his recent football.
