Jordan Obita, born on 8 December 1993, is a defender who primarily plays as a left back for Hibernian. Obita, measured at 1.8m (5ft 10in) tall and weighing 73kg (11st 6lb), sports the number 21 jersey on the field.
Obita joined Reading in the League One in England in July 2010. Over several seasons, he contributed significantly to the team, from 2013 to 2020, making appearances that ranged from 34 matches during the 2013-2014 season to only two in the 2017-2018 season. In all, he scored 5 goals in the league matches throughout these years.
In January 2012, Obita was loaned from Reading to Barnet in the National League in England, where he debuted in the 2011-2012 season with five league appearances. He was subsequently loaned from Reading to Gillingham in the League Two in England in March 2012, where he scored 3 goals in 6 league appearances before returning to Reading at the completion of his loan in May.
In the following years, Obita had further loan stints at Portsmouth in the Championship in England and Oldham Athletic in the National League in England, making an impactful eight first team appearances at each club during the 2012-2013 season.
In November 2020, he transferred from Reading to Oxford United in the Championship in England. However, in January 2021, Obita transferred again, this time moving to Wycombe Wanderers in the League One in England for an undisclosed fee. At Wycombe Wanderers, he made a total of 37 first team appearances in league matches across the 2020-2021 and 2022-2023 seasons.
In July 2023, Obita made his move to Hibernian in the Premiership in Scotland, making a strong impression with his performance. In the 2023-2024 season, Obita made 34 first team appearances and scored one goal in league matches, while in the current 2024-2025 season, he has already made 23 appearances. He also participated in League Cup 2024-2025 for Hibernian with four starts and one appearance as a substitute, and Scottish Cup 2024-2025 for Hibernian with one appearance as a substitute.
