Jordan Obita

Born on 8 December 1993, Jordan Obita is an English defender who primarily operates as a left back for Hibernian. Standing at 5ft 10in (1.8m) tall and weighing 11st 6lb (73kg), he currently dons the number 21 jersey for the Scottish side. Obita initiated his professional football journey in July 2010 with Reading in England's League One. Here, he made a remarkable number of appearances over several seasons, showing particular prowess in the 2014 - 2015 season where he graced the field in 43 first team league matches. However, Obita's career at Reading was punctuated by various loan spells. The first of these came in January 2012 as he transferred temporarily to Barnet in England's League Two. This was followed shortly after in March by a loan move to Gillingham, where he netted three goals in just six appearances. Another loan spell occurred in August 2012 when Obita was dispatched to Portsmouth in England's Championship league. This was succeeded yet again by another loan period at Oldham Athletic in January 2013. After these numerous loans, Obita ensured a return to his parent club, Reading, where he continued to contribute to the team's performance with regular appearances and infrequent goals. In November 2020, Obita transitioned from his long-standing allegiance to Reading, taking his skills to Oxford United in the Championship. This journey was brief, and by January 2021, he had moved to Wycombe Wanderers in the League One in England, acquired for an undisclosed fee. Here, Obita once more prominently featured in the first team for multiple seasons, eventually culminating in a transfer to Scottish side, Hibernian, in July 2023. His tenure at Hibernian has, so far, been marked by consistent first team appearances and a modest goal contribution. Currently, in the season 2025 - 2026 at Hibernian in Scotland, Obita has accumulated six first team appearances in league matches. Obita has also taken part in various competitions, such as the League Cup 2025 - 2026, the Scottish Cup 2024 - 2025, Europa League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026, and Conference League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026 on behalf of Hibernian.
