Jonathan Afolabi (born 14 January 2000, age 26) is a Republic of Ireland striker now with Shamrock Rovers. His Celtic connection came early: he joined from Southampton in August 2019, a move that looked like a sensible punt on a young forward rather than anything more dramatic.
His time at Celtic was the starting point for the rest of his senior career, not the part that came to define it. He left in August 2022 for Bohemian FC, with later spells also taking in Kortrijk and Shamrock Rovers as his career settled into a clearer shape.
