Jonathan Afolabi, born on 14 January 2000 (age 26), is a Republic of Ireland striker now with Shamrock Rovers. His early senior career carried a Celtic connection: he joined the club from Southampton in August 2019, a move that put him into a familiar holding pattern for young forwards trying to turn promise into proper first-team football.
He left Celtic in August 2022 for Bohemian FC, and that is where his career found its clearest shape. Across two league seasons with Bohs, Afolabi made 37 appearances and scored 15 goals. The 2023 campaign was the productive one: 15 league goals in 34 matches, the sort of return that gave his career a firmer outline than the earlier stops had managed.
