Joel Cotterill

Joel Cotterill is a 22-year-old Wales centre midfielder for St Johnstone and has made 7 Premiership appearances this season (4 starts, 3 as substitute), 0 goals and 0 yellow or red cards — those usage figures position him as a rotational option who contributes both from the bench and in starting slots.

Cotterill averages a 6.52 match rating this season, with a rating range of 6.34–6.84 — a tight band that points to consistent, steady performances rather than pronounced peaks or troughs.

Cotterill's career includes time with Swansea City interspersed with loan spells at Bristol Rovers and Dundee before moving to St Johnstone in September 2026; the sequence records a young midfielder moving through a parent-club pathway into a permanent transfer.

His moves feature multiple loan spells from Swansea City (to Bristol Rovers in September 2025 and to Dundee in January 2026), subsequent returns to Swansea City in January and June 2026, and a transfer to St Johnstone for an undisclosed fee in September 2026 — a pattern of loans followed by a permanent exit from his parent club.
