Jason Denayer, born on 28 June 1995 in Belgium, is known in the defence position and even distinguishes himself as a central defender currently playing for Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai. He's a substantial presence on the field, standing 6ft (1.84m) tall and weighing 12st 8lb (80kg).
Getting his start in July 2013, Denayer joined Manchester City, venturing into the world of England's Premier League. A year later, in August 2014, Denayer transferred on loan to Celtic in Scotland's Premiership.
During his debut season with Celtic (2014 - 2015), Denayer made a solid contribution. He played a role in 29 first team games, highlighting his defensive skills by scoring five goals in league matches. His time at Celtic was brief but nonetheless impactful, showing his potential as a dominating defender.
Following his stint in Scotland, Denayer was loaned to Galatasaray in Turkey's Süper Lig in August 2015. In the seasons 2015 - 2016 and 2017 - 2018 with Galatasaray, Denayer had over 17 first team appearances in league matches each season.
In a short diversion to England, Denayer spent the 2016 - 2017 season on loan at Sunderland in the Championship, clocking up 24 first team appearances in league matches. Following this, Denayer was seen once again at Galatasaray for the 2017 - 2018 season.
In August 2018, echoing the moves of many ambitious players before him, Denayer waved goodbye to Manchester City, transferring to Lyon in France's Ligue 1 for a fee of approximately £5.9m. Participating in a string of impactful appearances, Denayer showed his worth in Lyon over several seasons, accomplishing over 25 first team appearances and netting a number of goals.
A twist in his career path led him to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai in UAE's Pro League in September 2022. Surprisingly, in the 2024 - 2025 season, Denayer did not make any first team appearances in league matches, hinting at future developments and changes to come.
