Jamie McGrath, born on the 30th of September 1996 and currently 28 years old, hails from the Republic of Ireland. As a midfielder, he primarily operates in the central attacking midfielder position for Aberdeen Football Club, wearing the number 7 jersey. Standing tall at 5ft 9in (1.76m) and weighing a sturdy 11st 2lb (71kg), he does not shy away from physical confrontations on the pitch. In addition to his club obligations, McGrath has had the honour of representing his homeland's national team as well.
From a financial perspective, McGrath is considered a worthy investment by many. His current market value stands at a noteworthy one million pounds, a figure corroborated by Transfermarkt. However, with his contract with Aberdeen due to expiring on the 31st of May 2025, and only a month remaining, it's a waiting game to see if he chooses to extend.
McGrath's football journey commenced in January 2014, where he joined St. Patrick's Athletic in the Premier Division based in the Republic of Ireland. His inaugural season was marked by a single first-team appearance. This was followed by more substantial commitments, as he racked up 23 appearances and scored two goals in both 2015 and 2016 seasons.
With a visible increase in confidence, McGrath made a transfer to Dundalk in January 2017, also in Ireland's Premier Division. Here he grew as a player, scoring six goals in 28 matches during 2017 and maintaining notable contributions in the following two seasons.
Then came a significant move as McGrath transferred to Scottish Premiership's St Mirren in January 2020. Throughout his tenure there, he made a considerable number of appearances, culminating in exceptional performances in the 2020 - 2021 season, where he scored ten goals from 35 matches. His time in St. Mirren came to an end in 2022, after which he had a brief stop at Wigan Athletic before his loan move to Dundee United.
Not long after, McGrath found a permanent home at Aberdeen FC. He has definitely made his mark, with consistent displays of skill leading to a substantial number of goals. This includes the current and previous season where he tallied up 25 and 34 appearances respectively with an impressive set of goals to his name.
Apart from his regular league appearances, McGrath has also been no stranger to the international scene, taking part in the Euro Qualifiers and the Nations League for Rep. of Ireland. Domestically, his contributions to the Scottish Cup and League Cup for Aberdeen have been duly noted.
