James Wilson, born on 6 March 2007 (age 19), is a Scottish striker whose senior career is already tied closely to Hearts. There is little point pretending otherwise: the shape of his record is overwhelmingly a Tynecastle one.
Across four league seasons with Hearts, Wilson has made 33 league appearances and scored five goals. His best league return came in 2024–25, when he scored five times in 24 appearances, the sort of productive early season that gives a young forward something to build on without requiring anyone to get carried away.
His 2026–27 campaign has started with three Hearts appearances in all competitions and two goals, including one in the League Cup and one in the Conference League qualifiers. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is around £1m.
Wilson remains a developing Scottish forward, with Hearts providing the clear thread through his career so far. The early numbers are modest but useful, and his next step is simply to turn those flashes into a steadier first-team role.
