Jackson Irvine, born in Melbourne on 7 March 1993 (age 33), is an Australian centre midfielder with Cerezo Osaka. His Celtic connection came early: he came through at the club as a trainee before his development took him into senior football elsewhere.
The loan spells around that period were important in hardening him up for first-team football, and in July 2015 he left Celtic for Ross County. That move gave him a clearer platform, before Burton Albion brought his most productive league season: 10 goals in 42 appearances in 2016-17.
Irvine then moved through Hull City and Hibernian before establishing himself more fully at St Pauli. His career has been steady rather than showy, built across different leagues and roles in the middle of the pitch.
