Jack Newman, a Scottish-born footballer born on 12 February 2002 and currently 23 years of age, has carved a niche for himself as a goalkeeper for Dundee United. The striking lad, who stands at 6ft 3in (1.92m) and weighing in at 12st 8lb (80kg), commands respect on the field with his number 13 jersey.
According to Transfermarkt, Newman's current market value is around €150k which equates to approximately £127k. His tenure with Dundee United is set to run its course in just about two months, culminating on the 31st of May, 2025.
The lad began his football journey in earnest back in July 2017, joining Sunderland in the Championship in England as a trainee. It wasn't until July 2020 that he transferred from Sunderland to Dundee United in the Premiership in Scotland. Newman has so far made four first-team appearances in league matches for the 2022 - 2023 season at Dundee United. However, he has yet to make a single appearance in the current season of 2024 - 2025.
In a bid to expand his horizons and gain more match experience, Newman was loaned out to The Spartans in the League Two in Scotland in February 2022. He returned to Dundee United in June 2022 upon completion of his tenure. Again, Newman was transferred on loan to Peterhead in League Two in Scotland in July 2022. Here, he made a decent number of five first-team appearances in league matches during his debut season of 2022 - 2023. By August 2022, Newman was back at Dundee United.
Newman's journey on loan continued in July 2024 when he transferred from Dundee United to Inverness CT in the League One in Scotland still on loan. He made a return to Dundee United in October 2024. His loan spell at Inverness CT did not produce much in terms of first-team appearances. In January 2025, Newman was on the move again, this time to Livingston in the Championship in Scotland on loan. Yet, just as quickly as he joined Livingston, he returned to Dundee United the same month. For a goalie his age, Newman has had quite a journey in Scottish football already. The question remains on where next he will set his gloves.
