Jack MacKenzie, a native Scot, came into the world on 4 July 2000 and at 24 years old, chose the path of football that led him to Aberdeen Football Club. A towering defender who measures 6ft 3in (1.91m) in height and a trim 11st (70kg) in weight, MacKenzie primarily assumes the role of a left back for his team. He is also known to don the number 3 jersey. Outside his club duties, MacKenzie has had the honour of representing the national team of Scotland.
According to Transfermarkt, MacKenzie carries a sizeable market value around £635k. His contract with Aberdeen is active and is due to run out on 31 May 2025, a whole month from the present date.
Journeying back to July 2016, MacKenzie planted his football roots in Aberdeen, joining as a fledgeling trainee in Scotland's Premiership. His first season in the Aberdeen first team didn't come until the 2020-2021 timeframe when he stepped onto the pitch for six league matches. A year later, MacKenzie took up more responsibilities in the 2021-2022 seasons, making 20 appearances and netting a goal. Continuing his steady climb, he featured in 18 matches in 2022-2023 and further improved his tally to 27 appearances with a goal to his name in the 2023-2024 season. Up to the current season (2024-2025), MacKenzie has represented Aberdeen in 24 league matches.
MacKenzie's football journey took a detour in October 2020 when he was loaned to Forfar Athletic, marking his stint in League Two of Scotland. But by January 2021, MacKenzie was back home under the Aberdeen banner, marking the end of his loan. Between then and now, MacKenzie has been a regular face in the Aberdeen lineup, appearing in numerous matches across several seasons.
His exploits aren't limited to league settings. MacKenzie highlighted his worth in Cup competitions, scoring a goal in seven starts in the 2024-2025 League Cup. He also put his boots on in the Scottish Cup (2024-2025) and the Conference League (2023-2024), with one and four starts respectively.
