Born in Croatia on the 24th of April 2000, Ivan Dolček is a forward primarily playing as a left winger for Dundee United. At 5ft 10in (1.8m) tall and weighing in at a pitch-ready 11st 6lb (73kg), Dolček dons the number 19 jersey on his back. Dolček's football journey began in earnest in July 2017, when he was signed by Slaven Belupo in the HNL, his home country's premier league. During the 2024-2025 season, he made 31 first team appearances and netted three times in league matches.
In July 2019, the Croatian forward transferred from Slaven Belupo to local rivals Hajduk Split for a sum of about £450k. The 2023-2024 season saw him make a rather modest ten first team appearances in league matches.
A short stint abroad came to pass in January 2022, when Dolček transferred from Hajduk Split to Famalicao of the Liga Portugal on a loan spell. His debut season in Portugal saw him make nine first team appearances and score one goal in league matches. He later returned to Hajduk Split in June 2022.
Dolček then found himself on the move again in July 2022, this time on loan to Sibenik in the Druga HNL in Croatia. His record for the 2022-2023 season at Sibenik showed 29 first team appearances with five goals to his name. By June 2023, he was once again enlisted in the roster of Hajduk Split.
In January 2024, Dolček transferred from Hajduk Split to DAC Dunajská Streda in the Slovakian First Football League for a fee of around £280k. This venture was short-lived, as by August 2024 he had been loaned out again, this time returning to his former club, Slaven Belupo. The usual solidity in his performance echoed during the 2024-2025 season, with 31 first team league appearances and three goals.
Finishing his loan spell in June 2025, Dolček said farewell to Slaven Belupo and returned to DAC Dunajská Streda. Later that same month, Dundee United of the Scottish Premiership secured his services on loan. The current season, 2025-2026, has seen Dolček make two first team appearances and score three goals. He has also played in the League Cup for Dundee United with one start, and engaged in Conference League Qualifiers, starting three times and making one appearance from the bench.
