Hayato Inamura, born 6 May 2002 (age 24), is a Japanese central defender whose career has been shaped far more by Albirex Niigata than by his brief Celtic stop. Albirex gave him the main body of his senior football, with 28 league appearances and one league goal across two seasons.
His Celtic connection came in July 2025, when he joined from Albirex Niigata for around £250,000. It was an early move into Europe rather than the central chapter of his career, and by July 2026 he had left Celtic for FC Tokyo.
Inamura’s best league return came in 2025 with Albirex, when he scored once in 16 appearances. That spell remains the clearest marker of his development, with the club carrying more weight in his profile than the moves either side of it.
At FC Tokyo, he has made 10 J1 100 Year Vision League appearances in 2026-27, with 10 appearances in all competitions. His market value is around £383,000, according to Transfermarkt.
Inamura’s career so far is a compact one: established at Albirex Niigata, briefly at Celtic, and now part of FC Tokyo’s squad as he continues his senior career in Japan.
