Born on 10 April 2000, Gustaf Lagerbielke, the Swedish defender, is currently plying his trade for SC Braga. Standing tall at 6ft 3in (1.91m) and weighing in at 12st 8lb (80kg), he dons the number 14 jersey. Over the years, Lagerbielke has represented the Swedish national team and carved out a respectable place for himself in football.
Lagerbielke's current market value is estimated around £2.5m, as per Transfermarkt.
In January 2019, Lagerbielke's professional journey began in earnest when he joined Sollentuna FK in the Division 2, Sweden. By January 2021, he had ascended to Vasteras SK in the Superettan and later to IF Elfsborg in the Swedish top flight, the Allsvenskan, in August 2021 for an undisclosed fee. Lagerbielke gradually established himself at Elfsborg, incrementally increasing his number of appearances and even scoring twice in his third season at the club.
Amidst his tenure at Elfsborg, Lagerbielke had a brief loan stint at Degerfors IF, another Allsvenskan outfit. During the 2022 season, he notched up 14 first team appearances and registered three goals.
August 2023 marked a significant milestone in Lagerbielke's career, as he transferred from Elfsborg to Celtic, the historic Scottish Premiership club, for a fee around £3m. During his single season at Celtic (2023-2024), he managed seven first-team appearances.
His Celtic spell was followed by a loan to FC Twente in the Eredivisie where he performed commendably, featuring in 20 league matches and scoring once in the 2024-2025 season.
July 2025 saw Lagerbielke severing his ties with Celtic to join SC Braga in Portugal's top flight for approximately £2.2m. At Braga, Lagerbielke continues to be a regular feature in the first team. In the current 2025-2026 season, he has made seven appearances.
On an international level, he has represented the Swedish side in the 2024-2026 World Cup Qualifiers. His versatility was again displayed as he started in five Europa League Qualifier games and three main Europa League fixtures for SC Braga during the 2025-2026 season.
The towering centre back has a knack for threading himself into the fabric of his teams, adjusting to different styles of play and breaking into the first teams consistently, be it in Sweden, Scotland or Portugal.
