Here's a wee tale about a lad named Findlay Curtis, or as we like to call him, 'Curtis the Kid'. Born in Scotland on a chilly October morn in 2006, Findlay is but a lad at 19 years of age, though after a few pints, he'd argue he's done enough living for two lifetimes. Standing at a modest 5ft 10in (or 1.8m, for the more continental among us), and scaling the scales at 10st 5lb (or 66kg, if you're one for the metric system), Curtis is not what you’d call a towering behemoth on the footballing plain. Nevertheless, he darts about like a wee gnat on the wing for the blues. As a forward, primarily linked to the left wing, he dons the venerated, or perhaps infamous, number '52' jersey on his back. You'll find him down at Ibrox.
Now, let's have a chinwag about the lad's market value, shall we? According to those know-it-alls over at Transfermarkt, our lad’s worth about £638k (source). Given the astronomical prices for footballers these days, you'd almost want to ask for a refund. But I digress.
In his debut season of 2024 - 2025 with Rangers, the young 'un didn’t exactly set the world alight - a mere three appearances. You’d think someone pinched the gaffer's favourite biscuits from the jar with the lack of opportunities he's been given. However, things seemed to be picking up a tad with the 2025 - 2026 season rolling around. Our Curtis lad has managed nine appearances and, brace yourselves, scored his first goal for the club. Cue the confetti and streamers.
Apart from the league efforts, our hero or zero, depending on your side of divide, has been making his presence felt in various other competitions. In the 2025 - 2026 League Cup, he skipped off the bench like a spring lamb, twice, and managed to score a goal. One whole goal, can you believe that? Then there's his stint in the Scottish Cup the same season, where he got himself one starting berth. It’s like pulling teeth getting these details, it really is.
If that wasn't enough excitement for one season, our dear Curtis chanced his luck in the Champions League Qualifiers where he was let out of the box on two occasions and rewarded the gaffer with a goal. Capped it off with a little bit of Europa League action with two substitute spectacles. Makes you wonder what we were doing at 19, doesn’t it?
