Elvis Bwomono, a sturdy defender donning the number 42 jersey for St Mirren, was born on 29th November 1998 in Uganda. Now 25, he stands at a respectable 6ft (1.83m) and tips the scale at 11st 4lb (72kg). With a primary position at right back, he's made a tangible mark on the pitch despite his relatively short career.
Bwomono first cut his teeth in professional football at Southend United in England during the 2017-2018 season, where he notched up a modest tally of four first team appearances. By 2022, he had ventured to chillier climes, joining ÍBV in Iceland and making a considerably larger splash with 19 first team appearances in his first season, followed by an impressive 25 in the subsequent year.
His journey across the football landscapes led him to Scotland in the 2023-2024 season, where he joined St Mirren. Despite getting some pitch time, he only managed a meagre 13 first team appearances during this inaugural year. This season, the 2024-2025, Bwomono has so far only managed to squeeze in a single appearance.
But it must be remembered that in the 2023-2024 season he also had boots-on-the-ground in the Scottish Cup, contributing in two matches as a stalwart starter. His impact extended to the Conference League Qualifiers in the 2024-2025 season, securing a start and an appearance as a substitute.
Bwomono's performance and career trajectory will certainly be followed with keen interest, as he further hones his skills and cement his place in the fierce arena of Scottish football.
