Ellery Balcombe was born in England on 15 October 1999, which as of the current year, makes him 25 years old. He serves Motherwell in the capacity of a goalkeeper. His imposing presence between the sticks is due to his standing at an impressive 6ft 3in (1.91m) and weighing in at 13st 3lb (84kg). On the pitch, you'll find him wearing the number 88 jersey.
Starting in July 2016, Balcombe began his professional career with Premier League side Brentford as a trainee. He moved around quite a bit on loan over the coming years, experiencing football at different levels and leagues. His first loan spell was at Boreham Wood in the National League South of England in August 2018. He returned to Brentford in January 2019 upon completion of his loan.
September 2019 saw his career take an international turn as he joined Danish Superliga team Viborg on loan, only to again return to Brentford in January 2020. In January 2021, Balcombe transferred on loan to Doncaster Rovers in English League Two. Upon the conclusion of this loan spell in June 2021, he made his way back to Brentford.
Shortly afterwards, in July 2021, he was again out on loan, this time to Burton Albion in English League One, returning to Brentford in January 2022. A subsequent loan spell at Bromley in English League Two followed in January 2022, lasting until June of the same year when he returned to Brentford.
In July 2022, Balcombe joined League One club Crawley Town on a loan deal. He made ten first team appearances in league matches during the 2022 - 2023 season at Crawley Town. In general, it's clear that Balcombe has journeyed quite a bit in his relatively short career, experiencing different leagues and styles of play which undoubtedly would have provided him with a broad and diversified understanding of the game.
