Ebrima Darboe, born on 6 June 2001 in Gambia, is a central defensive midfielder of stature, whose current club is Roma. With a height of 1.79m (5ft 10in) and a weight of 70kg (11st), Darboe is a solid presence in the midfield, distinguished by his number 55 jersey. Well beyond the borders of his club, he has made his mark on the international scene, representing his native Gambia on several occasions.
As of now, Darboe's market value hovers around £850,000 according to Transfermarkt, perhaps a testament to his enduring skill and utility on the pitch.
Darboe's footballing journey took him to Roma, in the Serie A of Italy, joining them as a trainee in July 2018. His early days at Roma, during the 2020 - 2021 season, saw him making five appearances in league matches. Darboe's footprint in the following season was less pronounced, being fielded just once for a league match. The current season, 2025 - 2026, has so far seen no first-team action for Darboe at Roma.
In a twist of events, Darboe was loaned to LASK in Austria's Bundesliga in July 2023. He made five first team appearances in the 2023 - 2024 season for the Austrian side.
February 2024 saw Darboe on the move again, this time on loan to Sampdoria in Italy's Serie B. His time here proved somewhat fruitful: in the 2023 - 2024 season, Darboe racked up 14 first team appearances and scored two goals.
Completing his loan term, Darboe returned to Roma in June 2024. Upon returning to Roma, however, his first team appearances were scarce.
By August 2024, Darboe had transferred on loan for a third time, this time to Frosinone in Serie B. The 2024 - 2025 season with Frosinone was a busy one, with Darboe making 26 first team appearances and netting two goals.
In June 2025, Darboe completed his loan and returned once again to Roma, where he unfortunately has yet to make any first team appearances in the current 2025 - 2026 season.
Despite the frequent moves and fluctuating first team appearances, Darboe's footballing journey has seen him emerge on the international stage, where he made an appearance as a substitute for Gambia in the World Cup Qualifiers Africa between 2024 - 2026.
