Eboue Kouassi, born on 13 December 1997 (age 28), is an Ivorian defensive midfielder now with União Leiria. His first serious marker in British football came at Celtic, who signed him from Krasnodar in January 2017 for around £3m.
That move carried a fair bit of expectation, but his Celtic spell never quite became the settled run either side would have wanted. He left in July 2020, joining Genk for around £1.5m, with his time in Glasgow left as an early, slightly unresolved chapter rather than the main body of his career.
After Celtic, Kouassi moved through Genk and União Leiria before finding a steadier place at Arouca. His most productive league season came there in 2021–22, when he scored once in 19 appearances.
He is now back in Portugal with União Leiria, wearing squad number 88. In 2026–27 he has made three Liga Portugal 2 appearances, continuing a career shaped by early promise, movement across leagues, and a more settled spell after leaving Scotland.
