Donyell Malen, born on 19 January 1999 (age 27), is a Netherlands international who plays mainly from the right for Roma, wearing squad number 14. His current market value is around £24m, according to Transfermarkt.
His most productive league campaign came at PSV in 2020–21, when he scored 19 goals in 32 appearances. That remains the cleanest marker of his attacking output: direct, useful, and not dependent on too much dressing up.
By 2025–26, Malen was still a regular first-team player. He made 21 league appearances for Aston Villa, scoring four times, before moving on to Roma, where his return improved sharply with 14 goals in 18 league appearances. For a wide forward, that is not background noise.
He has also stayed involved with the Netherlands this season, making one World Cup appearance and seven European qualifying appearances, scoring four goals in the qualifiers. His career has moved across strong leagues without losing its basic shape: a quick, productive attacker still getting serious minutes for club and country.
