Deniss Meļņiks, born on 7 September 2002 (age 23), is a Latvian central defender with an imposing 6ft 3in (1.90m) frame. He wears squad number 21 at Falkirk, where his role has so far been limited but clear enough: a tall defender being worked into a new setting.
The serious body of his career was built at Auda. Across four seasons there he made 91 league appearances and scored nine league goals, a decent return for a centre-half and more than enough to make that spell the main reference point of his senior football. His best league season came in 2024, when he scored five times in 27 appearances.
At Falkirk in 2026-27, Meļņiks has made two league appearances and three League Cup appearances, giving him five appearances in all competitions. He has also been involved internationally, making five appearances for Latvia in European World Cup qualifying this season.
Meļņiks’ career to this point is a straightforward one: established at Auda, now trying to build a place at Falkirk while staying in the Latvia picture.
