It all began on the warm July of 2013, when he bid his goodbyes to Macedonia and joined the ranks of FC Barcelona B in Spain's Second Division B/1. During his inaugural season of 2013 - 2014 at FC Barcelona B, Babunski made a reputable 19 first-team appearances and scored a goal in league matches.
Come January of 2016, he was on the move again and transferred from Spain to Red Star in the SuperLiga, Serbia. At Debreceni and Mezőkövesd, Babunski kept a prominent presence on the pitch making 68 first team appearances and scoring four goals across the three seasons from 2021 to 2024.
The big move to Scotland came in July 2024, when Dundee United offered him a spot in their Premiership team. Here, Babunski continues to add to his dependable record making 16 first team appearances and scoring a goal in the current season. Aside from the league games, Babunski also made his mark in the League Cup 2024 - 2025, delivering two crucial goals over five starts for Dundee United.
