Christopher Jullien, born on the 22nd of March 1993, is a French-born footballer who primarily operates as a central defender. Currently plying his trade for Montpellier, Jullien stands at an imposing 1.96m (6ft 5in) tall, and weighs in at 88kg (13st 12lb). He sports the number 6 jersey. His current market value, as stated by Transfermarkt, hovers around £850,000.
Jullien began his professional career in the summer of 2012 when he joined Ligue 1 side Auxerre, where he made 25 first-team appearances and scored twice in his debut season. A year later, he transferred to German Bundesliga team Freiburg, but only managed to secure a single league appearance in the 2014-2015 season.
In July 2015, Jullien was loaned out to French Championnat National side Dijon where he left his mark. He ran up 34 appearances and notched up nine goals in his 2015-2016 season. His next move saw him transfer from Freiburg to French Ligue 1's Toulouse in a deal roughly valued at £2.3m. Whilst at Toulouse, he consistently started matches, totalling over 30 appearances each season and sporadically scoring goals across the 2016 - 2019 seasons.
His performance at Toulouse caught the attention of Celtic who shelled out around £7m to secure his services in July 2019. During his tenure at the Scottish Premiership club, Jullien made noteworthy contributions, especially in the 2019 - 2020 season where he clocked up 28 appearances and found the back of the net four times. In the ensuing season, he made nine appearances and scored once before his eventual departure.
Jullien's association with the Hoops came to an end in August 2022 when he transferred to Montpellier. Back in his home nation, he has since made a significant number of league appearances. As it stands, in the current season (2025 - 2026), he has made five first-team appearances.
Having made quite an impact during his stint with Celtic, Jullien left an indelible mark in the club's history. His imposing presence in the defence line and his contributions in terms of league appearances and goals have earned him a warm nook in the hearts of the faithful Hoops followers.
