Chris Cadden is a recognised name in the Scottish football scene, having built a reputable career as a resilient right back for several Scottish clubs, including Hibernian. Born on 19th September 1996 in Scotland, Cadden stands impressively on the field at 6 ft (1.83 m) and a healthy 11 st 13 lb (76 kg). He currently assumes the role of defender in the number 12 jersey for Hibernian.
Cadden's journey in the football world began to gather momentum in July 2013 when he signed up with Motherwell, a Premiership club in Scotland. His first season saw a slow start with only three first team appearances in league matches. However, the seasons that followed saw an increase in appearances and a significant improvement in his game. The culmination of his time at Motherwell was in the 2016-2017 season, where he made 36 appearances and netted three goals in league matches.
In March of 2015, Cadden took a short hiatus from Motherwell and joined Albion Rovers, a Lowland League club in Scotland, on loan. Despite the term being brief, Cadden managed to make a considerable impact, tallying ten appearances and two goals to his name.
Cadden's return to Motherwell in June 2015 marked an increase in pitch appearances and consistent performances. His time at Motherwell, however, came to an end in July 2019 when he made a move across the Atlantic to join Columbus Crew, an MLS team in the USA.
Following a season with Columbus Crew, Cadden found himself back in British football when he joined Oxford United in the Championship on loan in July 2019. His stint in England was short, as he returned to Columbus Crew in January 2020. Cadden's appearances in the MLS were limited, pulling on the jersey on only 8 occasions in league matches for the 2020 season.
In January 2021, Cadden transferred back to his homeland, joining Hibernian, a club that plays in the Scottish Premiership. His form in the green and white jersey has been memorable, with consistent appearances and the odd goal on the scoresheet. In the current 2025 - 2026 season, Cadden has so far made 19 appearances and scored one goal in league matches. It's clear that his journey in Scottish football isn't over yet.
Chris Cadden's performance isn't just limited to league appearances though. Whilst playing for Hibernian, he's also represented the club in several tournaments including the League Cup 2025 - 2026, with one substitute appearance, the Europa League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026 for Hibernian with two starts, and the Conference League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026, where he scored one goal in four starts.
This lad's evident passion and commitment to the game show that he's got miles yet to go in his career.
