Cameron Carter-Vickers, an English-born centre back, was born on 31st December 1997 and is 27 years old. Standing tall at 6ft (1.84m) and weighing in at 14 stone 6 lbs (92kg), he is a formidable presence in the heart of Celtic's defence, donning the number 20 jersey. Apart from his club duties in Scotland, he has also sported the colours of the United States on the international stage.
His current market value stands at approximately £12m, as per Transfermarkt. His current contract with Celtic will run for another 4 years and 5 months, drawing to a close in the late spring of 2029.
Carter-Vickers began his career as a trainee at Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur back in July 2009. However, he spent much of his early career on loan at various English outfits, including Sheffield United, Ipswich Town, Swansea City, Stoke City, Luton Town, and Bournemouth, where he made several appearances and managed to find the back of the net on a few occasions.
In August 2021, he was loaned out to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. He embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly and was an important cog in the Celtic machine for the 2021 - 2022 season, making 33 first team appearances and scoring four important goals in the process. He followed this up with 29 league appearances the following season and 25 in the 2023 - 2024 season, in which he scored another goal.
Seeing promise in his temporary stint, Celtic decided to secure his services permanently from Tottenham Hotspur in July 2022 for a fee rounded at £6m. His performance since then has not disappointed, with Carter-Vickers consistently performing in the centre of Celtic's defence in every passing season.
His contributions haven't been limited to domestic football. In the Champions League 2023 - 2024, he started three matches for Celtic, besides making a substitute appearance. In the League Cup the following season, he scored a goal in his three starts. He also had the opportunity to feature in the Copa America 2024 for the United States, making an appearance off the bench. The following season, he helped Celtic in the Champions League with four starts.
