Calvin Stengs, born on 18 December 1998 (age 27), is a Dutch attacking midfielder whose best football has generally come when allowed to work between midfield and the forward line. He came through at AZ and made his strongest league return there in 2020–21, scoring seven goals in 30 appearances.
His career then moved abroad with Nice before a loan to Royal Antwerp helped restart his rhythm after a less settled spell in France. That period mattered: it gave him regular senior football away from the more familiar structure of AZ, and kept him moving as a player rather than simply drifting through a move that had not quite taken.
Stengs later returned to the Netherlands, with Feyenoord also part of his route, before coming back to AZ. He was linked with Celtic in August 2025 and again in July 2026, though the interest remained at the level of transfer talk. His current market value is around £4m, according to Transfermarkt.
