Callum Slattery, born on 8 February 1999 (age 27), is an English central midfielder whose career has come to be shaped far more by Motherwell than by anything that came before it. His early loan football helped move him from prospect status into the weekly demands of senior matches, but it is at Fir Park that he has done the bulk of his work.
Motherwell has given Slattery continuity, responsibility and a regular place in the middle of the pitch. Across five league seasons he has made 124 league appearances and scored 16 goals, a decent return for a player used primarily in central and defensive midfield roles. His best scoring run came in 2024–25, when he managed six league goals in 15 appearances.
He remained a regular part of the side in 2025–26, wearing squad number 8 and making 29 league appearances with three goals. He also played five times in the League Cup and twice in the Scottish Cup, taking him to 36 Motherwell appearances in all competitions for the season.
His market value is around £383,000, according to Transfermarkt. Slattery’s career is not especially complicated: early development, senior grounding through loans, then a sustained Motherwell spell where he has become a familiar and useful first-team midfielder.
