Callum McGregor, born in Scotland on 14 June 1993, is a central defensive midfielder for Celtic Football Club. At 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall and weighing 11st 9lb (74kg), he wears the number 42 jersey for the Club.

McGregor joined Celtic in the Premiership in Scotland in July 2013. In his first seasons with Celtic, from 2014 to 2015, McGregor developed his foundations as a player making 18 first team appearances and scoring two goals in league matches. Between seasons 2015 to 2016, McGregor began to show his form with a tally of four goals in his 27 first team appearances.
McGregor's form remained consistent during the seasons that followed, with goal counts and appearances steadily rising. In the 2016/2017 season, he made 31 first team appearances scoring six goals. The following 2017/2018 season saw McGregor make 36 first team appearances, with seven resulting in goals. With plenty of game time in the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons, McGregor made 30 and 37 perceptions respectively, scoring nine and three goals in each.
His performances improved with each passing season, particularly shinning during the 2023 to 2024 and 2024 to 2025 seasons. McGregor made 35 first team appearances and scored two and eight goals respectively. Currently, in the 2025/2026 season, he has made 15 first team appearances and scored two goals in league matches.
In August 2013, McGregor was loaned out from Celtic to Notts County in the League Two in England making a considerable impact in his debut season with 37 first team appearances and 12 goals in league matches. However, he returned to Celtic in July 2014 after the completion of his loan.
Through his prolific career, McGregor has also participated in various important campaigns such as the Champions League 2023 - 2024, where he made six starts for Celtic. He's made his mark in the League Cup 2025 - 2026, scoring one goal in three starts, and the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers for the 2025 - 2026 seasons, with two and six starts respectively for Celtic.
