The next leg of Mikulic's career took him to Italy's Seconda Divisione Girone B, where he transferred to Messina in August 2021. After a brief stint, he made a move to Auda in the Virslīga in Latvia, for an undisclosed fee in February 2022. He continued his journey through Eastern Europe by transferring to Partizani Tirana in the Kategoria Superiore in Albania two years later, in February 2024.

In October 2024, Mikulic found his way to Scottish soil, signing for St Johnstone in the Premiership. During the current 2024-2025 season, he has already made 14 first team appearances and scored two goals in league matches. In addition, Mikulic has started twice for St Johnstone in the 2024-2025 Scottish Cup.
