Bosun Lawal, born 30th May 2003 (aged 22) in Rep. Ireland, opts for life as a steadfast defender, specialising his skills centrally. Throwing his weight around, quite literally, at 80kg (12st 8lb), and standing tall at an imposing 1.9m (6ft 2in), it's no small wonder Stoke City took him under their wing. Fans of the Potters can see him donning the number 18 jersey as he makes his presence known on the pitch.
Despite being only 22, Lawal has already had an interesting career path. In July 2021, he decided to make a significant shift. Leaving behind Watford of the Championship in England, with its green and picturesque landscapes, he joined Celtic, playing in the grey and beautiful Scottish Premiership, with the transfer fee remaining undisclosed.
However, like many young and promising talents, Lawal found himself on a loan spell in August 2023. He was transferred to Fleetwood Town, plying their trade in League Two, back in England. Such experiences, as we know, are valuable for player development, allowing them to get more playing time and familiarity with competitive football.
A year later, in August 2024, Lawal found himself on the move again. This time, from the distinct character of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, he made the move southwards to Stoke City in England's Championship, again for an undisclosed fee. It was with Stoke City where he made an appearance in the prestigious FA Cup 2024 - 2025 season, albeit off the bench.
It's worth mentioning that while at Celtic, Lawal contributed significantly to the team's defensive solidity during his two-season spell amid a fiercely competitive Scottish Premiership before the year 2013. His valued contributions to the team will be remembered long after the ephemeral noise of the Old Firm games has faded away.
