Bobby Petta, born in Netherlands on 6 August 1974, currently aged 50, is a midfielder who holds the primary role of Left Attacking Midfield for Heidelberg United. His stature is fairly typical of a midfielder, standing at 5ft 6in (1.7m) and with a weight of 11st 2lb (71kg).
Beginning his touchdown into the Premier League in England, Petta joined Ipswich Town in July 1996. His debut season at the club in 1996 - 1997 saw him make six first team league appearances. The seasons that followed in 1997 - 1998 and 1998 - 1999, Petta graced the field thirty-two times for each season, scoring seven and two goals respectively.
In July 1999, Petta made a move from Ipswich Town to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. His first season (1999 - 2000) at Celtic was marked by twelve first team league appearances. This trend continued in subsequent seasons, with Petta making twenty first team appearances in 2000 - 2001, eighteen in 2001 - 2002, and just two in 2002 - 2003.
In the cold month of December 2003, Petta was loaned out from Celtic to Fulham, situated in the Premie League in England. His stint at Fulham that season, 2003 - 2004, saw him playing nine first team league matches.
Petta's travel through the leagues continued as he transferred from Celtic to Darlington, a team competing in the National League North in England, in January 2005. In his single season at Darlington, 2004 - 2005, Petta appeared in twelve league matches while also scoring a goal.
Petta transferred once again in July 2005, this time from Darlington to Bradford City in England's League Two. During his only season (2005 - 2006) at Bradford City, he made twenty-seven appearances and netted four goals.
In his first non-European adventure, Petta transferred in July 2006 from Bradford City to Adelaide United, who compete in the A-League in Australia. His two seasons at Adelaide United saw him make nineteen appearances in total and add one more goal to his tally.
Petta continued his time down under, moving to Sydney FC in October 2008. He made nine appearances for Sydney FC in the 2008 - 2009 season. Finally, in June 2009, Petta transferred from Sydney FC to where he's currently positioned, Heidelberg United in the NPL in Australia. To date, in the 2024 - 2025 season, Petta has yet to don the colours of Heidelberg United for a league match.
