Bertrand Traoré, born on the 6th of September 1995 in Burkina Faso, currently dons the number 20 jersey as a forward for Ajax, where he mainly takes position on the right wing. At 5ft 11in (1.81m), and weighing in at 11st 6lb (73kg), Traoré has also been a star for his home country, regularly representing Burkina Faso on the international stage.

His professional career began in the 2013-2014 football season at Dutch club, Vitesse. Bantering the ball into the goal three times, the fledgling forward made 13 appearances for his then team. In the 2015-2016 season, Traoré moved to England to play for Chelsea where he left his mark with two goals in ten games.
The subsequent 2016-2017 season marked the start of Traoré's first stint with Ajax. In his inaugural season with the Dutch squad, he scored nine goals over 24 appearances. In the 2017-2018 season, the Burkina Faso native played in France for Lyon, tallying 13 goals in 31 games. His subsequent two seasons in the French League saw him score seven and one goal(s) respectively in 34 and 23 games.
In the 2020-2021 season, Traoré was back on English soil, this time wearing the stripes of Aston Villa. Playing 36 games in his first season with Villa, he scored seven goals, before going on to make nine appearances in the following season.
During the 2022-2023 season, Traoré took his talents to Turkey, making 12 appearances for Istanbul Basaksehir, and managing to score twice. In the same season, he returned briefly to Aston Villa, scoring two goals in eight appearances. The following season, Traoré was once again on the move, this time to Spain, where he made 11 appearances for Villarreal and scored once.
Since the 2024-2025 season, Traoré has been with Ajax, where he scored six goals in 32 appearances in his first season back. As of season 2025 - 2026, Traoré remains with the Ajax team.
His participation in the World Cup Qualifiers Africa 2024 - 2026 for Burkina Faso saw him netting three goals in four performances. Traoré also made significant contributions to Ajax during the KNVB Beker 2024 - 2025 and the Europa League 2024 - 2025, with combined totals of five goals over 12 starts and five appearances coming off the bench.
