Ben Doak was born in Dalry on 11 November 2005 (age 20) and came through Celtic’s youth set-up before his career moved south. A right winger, he left Celtic for Liverpool in March 2022 for around £600,000, a tidy enough fee for a teenager but not one that kept him in Glasgow for long.
Liverpool gave him the first stage away from Celtic, before his route took in Bournemouth and then Middlesbrough. It is Middlesbrough, more than anywhere else, that has given his senior career its clearest shape so far. In the 2024-2025 season he made 24 league appearances and scored three goals, his most productive league campaign to date.
He has since been back at Bournemouth, where in 2025-2026 he has made eight Premier League appearances without scoring. His current market value is around £13.5m, according to Transfermarkt. He was linked with Celtic in August 2024 and again in August 2025 while at Bournemouth.
Doak has also been involved with Scotland this season, making one World Cup appearance and six European World Cup qualifying appearances, scoring once. His career remains early, but its line is clear enough: Celtic beginnings, a move to Liverpool, and a more substantial senior spell shaped by Middlesbrough before his Bournemouth period.
