Ben Doak, born in Dalry on 11 November 2005 (age 20), came through at Celtic before his career quickly moved south. He left in March 2022 for Liverpool in a deal worth around £600,000, an early exit rather than a Celtic story with much first-team substance.
Liverpool gave him the high-profile platform, and Bournemouth later became part of the route, but his most convincing senior spell so far came at Middlesbrough. In the 2024-25 season he made 24 league appearances and scored three goals, the clearest run of football in a career still being shaped.
Now primarily a right winger for Bournemouth, Doak has made eight Premier League appearances and one League Cup appearance in 2025-26 without scoring. He has also featured for Scotland in World Cup qualifying this season, scoring once in six appearances. His market value is around £13.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
He was linked with Celtic in August 2024 and again in August 2025 while at Bournemouth. For now, his career runs from Celtic’s academy to Liverpool, Bournemouth and a notable Middlesbrough spell, with the next stage still taking shape.
