Arthur Avom, born on 15 December 2004 (age 21), is a Cameroonian attacking midfielder whose senior football has been built almost entirely at Lorient. Wearing squad number 62, he has become a regular part of their midfield picture rather than a passing academy name.
His Lorient record stands at 67 league appearances and four league goals across three seasons. The strongest return came in 2024-25, when he scored twice in 32 league appearances, a decent marker for a young midfielder still working out the balance between influence and end product.
In 2026-27, Avom has made 10 appearances for Lorient across all competitions, including four in Ligue 1 and two in the Coupe de France. He has also been involved with Cameroon, making four appearances in African World Cup qualifying and scoring once.
He was linked with a move to Celtic in July 2026. His current market value is around £17m, according to Transfermarkt.
Avom’s career to this point is a Lorient story: a young Cameroonian midfielder with regular senior minutes, some international involvement, and a profile now large enough to draw attention elsewhere.
