Anthony Gordon, born on 24 February 2001 (age 25), is an England winger whose senior career has been shaped far more by Newcastle United than by the early steps that brought him through. He came out of Everton’s system and had a short loan spell at Preston North End, useful more as a staging post than a headline chapter.
Newcastle is where the main body of the work has been done. Gordon has made 111 league appearances for the club across four seasons, scoring 24 league goals, and wears the number 10 shirt. His best league return came in 2023-24, when he scored 11 times in 35 appearances.
He remains a regular part of the Newcastle side in 2025-26. This season he has made 46 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 17 goals, including 26 league appearances and six league goals. His Champions League return has been particularly productive, with 10 goals in 12 appearances, while he has also added an FA Cup goal.
Gordon has also stayed in the England picture, making five World Cup qualifying appearances this season and scoring once. His current market value is around £55.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
At this stage, Gordon is an established Premier League winger with Newcastle at the centre of his career. The early Everton and Preston years helped get him moving, but his standing now rests on what he continues to do at St James’ Park.
