Anel Ahmedhodžić, born on the 26th of March 1999 (presently aged 26) in Sweden, is a robust defender who primarily dons the role of a central defender for Feyenoord. He effortlessly commands over his opponents with a towering height of 6ft 2in (1.9m) and a solid built, weighing 12st 6lb (79kg). The number 21 jersey is his choice of armour on the field.
Turning our focus to his value in the market, the player is currently worth an impressive £16m as per Transfermarkt.
Ahmedhodžić's career is coloured by multiple transfers. In January 2016, he moved from his home club, Malmo FF, to the Premier League's Nottingham Forest, for what the officials deemed as an undisclosed fee. His debut season (2016 - 2017) with Nottingham Forest may not have panned as he'd expected, clocking in just a single league appearance. However, the narrative changed significantly when the defender made a U-turn to Malmo FF in 2019, again for an undisclosed fee. Season 2019 with Malmo was marked by a steady rise in his exposure, starting with a single league appearance that burgeoned to 29 appearances in 2020, netting two goals, and 25 appearances with a goal to his name in 2021.
Between these stints, Ahmedhodžić had found a temporary place in Hobro IK, Denmark's 1st division team, a part of his loan from Malmo. Playing for one season (2019-2020), he added 19 league appearances and one goal to his football vitae. Completing his loan term, he returned to Malmo FF in 2020.
As 2022 rolled in, Ahmedhodžić again found himself transferred, this time to Bordeaux in France's Championnat National, another loan shipment from Malmo. His stint with Bordeaux saw him on the field for 15 league matches in the 2021 to 2022 season.
In July 2022, Ahmedhodžić bid adieu to Malmo and stepped onto the English soil with Sheffield United, costing the club a hefty £4m. His tenure with Sheffield United was marked by success, as seen in his league appearances (34 in 2022-2023, 31 in 2023-2024, and 38 in 2024-2025), and a healthy number of goals (six in 2022-2023, two in 2023-2024, and three in 2024-2025).
August 2025 brought a new direction for Ahmedhodžić when he was transferred from Sheffield United to Feyenoord in the Netherlands with a handsome fee of £16m. Currently, in his debut season (2025-2026) with Feyenoord, he has 12 first team league appearances to his name.
Demonstrating his mettle in the continental competition, Ahmedhodžić participated in 2025-2026's Champions League Qualifiers and Europa League for Feyenoord, with two and five starts, respectively.
