Alexander Briedl

Briedl has made five Premiership appearances (two starts, three as a substitute) and four League Cup appearances this season, scoring zero goals and receiving one yellow card – that usage pattern points to a rotational central defensive midfielder often introduced to shore up midfield and manage game phases off the bench.

Briedl averages a 6.46 rating this season, with a season high of 6.67 and a low of 6.08 – those figures indicate modest but consistent output across his appearances.

Briedl's career progressed through the Austrian system – he began as a trainee with FC Liefering in July 2015, moved to SV Horn in January 2021, then joined Blau-Weiss Linz in July 2022 where he spent four seasons before signing for Aberdeen in July 2026; the trajectory represents a steady move from domestic development pathways into the Scottish Premiership.

Briedl moved from Blau-Weiss Linz to Aberdeen on a free transfer in July 2026; his transfer from SV Horn to Blau-Weiss Linz in July 2022 was also a free transfer, the move from FC Liefering to SV Horn in January 2021 was for an undisclosed fee, and his initial entry into FC Liefering in July 2015 was as a trainee.
