Alex Gogic, a skilled defender primarily playing in the centre-back position, was born in Cyprus on 13 April 1994 and is currently 31 years of age. He stands a sturdy 6ft tall (1.85m) and weighs in at a solid 13 stone (83kg). Presently, Gogic is playing for St Mirren, wearing the number 13 jersey. Alongside his club commitment, he has also donned the national jersey, representing the Cyprus national team.
In the summer of 2013, Gogić made the cross-national move from Olympiacos in Greece's Super League to Swansea City in the English Championship. His time with Swansea was largely inconclusive, and in February 2017, he moved north across the border to Hamilton Academical, a club competing in the Scottish Championship.
Gogic's performance at Hamilton was steady if unspectacular. He clocked seven first-team appearances in the debut 2016-2017 season, followed by 18 appearances and a goal in the following season. Contributions in subsequent seasons were comparable, with 16 appearances in 2018-2019 and 29 appearances with one goal in the 2019-2020 season.
Following the completion of his contract with Hamilton, Gogic sought fresh pastures and moved to Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership in July 2020. Across the 2020-2021 season, Gogić made 34 first team appearances, scoring once. He followed this up with nine appearances in the 2021-2022 season. However, January 2022 saw him temporarily transfer to St Mirren, still within the Premiership, on a loan spell. His loan spell was marked by 13 appearances and a goal over the remainder of the season.
The move to St Mirren was made permanent in August 2022. His first full season with the club saw him play 30 matches, adding two goals to his tally. He swiftly became a consistent figure in the team, making 38 appearances in the 2023 - 2024 season and scoring twice. His performances remained strong in the following season, where he has so far made 36 appearances and netted once.
Beyond regular league duties, Gogić has seen action in various cup and international games. He participated in the 2024-2025 League Cup for St Mirren, making a start, and also played twice in the Scottish Cup for the same year. His international commitments saw him start seven times in the Euro Qualifiers for 2022-2024 for his home nation of Cyprus, and twice in the Nations League for 2024-2025. He also represented St Mirren in the Conference League Qualifiers for 2024-2025, appearing four times.
